Research & Insights

How we think about human-first AI.

BiggerMind is built on a point of view. These are the ideas that guide how we research, design, and build privacy-first personal intelligence — and the questions we are still working through.

Our Perspective

Six ideas at the centre of our work.

These are positions, not press releases. They describe how we believe personal AI should be built — and they shape every product decision we make.

Local-first intelligence

We believe the most personal intelligence should live as close to the person as possible. Keeping data on the device wherever it is technically possible reduces exposure, strengthens trust, and changes the relationship between a person and their AI — from something done to them, to something done for them.

Memory you own

An assistant becomes useful by remembering. That memory should belong to the person it serves — viewable, editable, pausable, and deletable. We explore how user-owned memory can make AI genuinely helpful without turning a life into a dataset owned by someone else.

Permission-based access

Helpfulness and control are not opposites. We study how permission-based intelligence — where the user explicitly decides what an assistant can access, remember, suggest, and act on — can deliver real assistance while keeping people firmly in charge.

Reducing cognitive load

Most software adds to the noise of modern life. We are interested in the opposite: AI that quietly reduces cognitive load, surfaces what matters at the right moment, and stays silent when it should — calm intelligence rather than another demanding inbox.

Safety boundaries for personal AI

Personal AI touches health, money, identity, and family. We think carefully about where assistance ends and human judgement must take over — human confirmation for sensitive actions, explainable suggestions where possible, and clear limits around professional advice.

AI that serves, not exploits

A business model shapes a product's soul. We explore how to build sustainable personal AI without selling personal data or relying on surveillance — designing products that support people rather than mine them.

What We Are Exploring

The questions we are actively working on.

Personal intelligence

How a private assistant can understand context, intent, and priorities without overreaching.

Privacy-preserving architecture

On-device processing, encryption where appropriate, and cloud-minimised design patterns.

Responsible & explainable AI

Making suggestions understandable, bounded, and accountable to the people they affect.
